Cookies

The portal uses a single functional cookie, lang, which remembers your chosen language (Bokmål, Nynorsk or English). It is set only when you choose a language, lasts one year and contains no personal data. Such purely functional storage does not require consent under the ePrivacy rules, so the portal shows no cookie banner. We use no analytics, marketing or tracking cookies.

Personal data

The only personal data we process is the email address you provide to obtain an API key. The address is used to send a verification link and to create the user and subscription in Azure API Management (APIM), which is the system that owns the keys. The portal has no database of its own. The legal basis is performing a service you have requested.

Storage and deletion

The email address is stored in APIM for as long as the key is active. You can delete the key and the user at any time.

Abuse prevention

To prevent automated abuse of key requests, the service uses rate limiting in Azure Front Door, which temporarily processes the request IP address. IP addresses are not retained beyond what this protection requires.

Data processors

Mailgun EU (sending the verification email) and Microsoft Azure (EU region). All processing takes place within the EU/EEA.
